The Organization's Goals:
* to
promote public education on the importance of protecting and preserving
the earth's
environment.

to promote and coordinate litter prevention
 programs
and community cleanups.
* to
beautify areas of the city through landscaping,
 planting
trees, murals and public art.
*
to provide programs and public
education on the importance of the minimization of solid waste by
encouraging citizens to Reduce, Reuse,
 Recycle, and Re-buy.
*
to provide programs and public
education on the importance of the conservation of the environment's
natural resources: water, air, trees, habitats, and general ecology.

History:

Keep
Odessa Beautiful was established in 1985 as a Chamber of Commerce Clean
City Committee named the "Clean City Consortium". The Consortium
later became the "Greater Odessa Litterbusters".
*
In 1988, the Greater Odessa
Litterbusters became incorporated as a 501 c 3 non-profit organization.
*
In 1994, the name was changed to
"Keep Odessa Beautiful, Inc."
* Keep Odessa Beautiful has been an affiliate
of  since 1994 and an
affiliate of  since 1988.
